Dell Inspiron Serial Number Format

For my Lenovo products, the Lenovo serial number format is very similar to the Dell Service Tag format, but Lenovo definitely calls it a serial number. For me personally it's not a big deal, but as it seemed to be a design issue, I thought I would bring it to your team's attention. Does anyone know which number on a Dell Latitude is the serial number? There is no label that indicates 'S/N' or anything of that nature. Well it not a serial # you want or need it's the service tag and or the Exprees service code. Both of these are on a sticker on the bottom of the notebook.

Locating the service tag on your Dell computer or laptop is essential in the event that your laptop needs servicing. The service tag number identifies your computer to the Dell technician or support representative. The number is linked to your account and provides warranty information about your product. Each time your computer is serviced the information is updated in Dell's database. This provides a record for the next technician who services your product.
